ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS WOMEN AWARDS
ABOUT ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS WOMEN AWARDS ~ 40 over FORTY
On the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8), we celebrate 40 over Forty Absolutely Fabulous Women from the Golden Horseshoe Region representing a multiple varieties of cultural backgrounds, diversified community outreach programs, and businesses that support the needs of mankind.
The Absolutely Fabulous Women (AFW) Awards was created in 2014 to honor and give recognition of the achievements, accomplishments and positive contributions of women in building and keeping a safe, healthy and growing community.
The Awards Gala is our way of saying Thank You to our women for the great things they do for our communities.
Rosanna Penilla-Bharucha, Founder
Rosanna is an entrepreneur and believes in giving back to the community. She is the Executive Director of The Boomerpreneur and Boomerpreneurs Network, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at Ed2All and Managing Director of We Host Students Network.
Whenever possible, Rosanna volunteers her time at activities for seniors and children within the Peel and Halton Region. Since 2013, she has been organizing Golden Years Expo within the Greater Toronto Areas to benefit United Senior Citizens of Ontario and related charitable organizations caring for Seniors. She also leads two business networking groups, Boomerpreneurs Network, and AFW Connect. Rosanna was also enrolled in a one-year pastoral course on Study By Extension For All Nations (SEAN).
In 2013, Rosanna faced a health challenge and had to withdraw from SEAN Course a few weeks before graduation. During her weakest time, her mother and some close friends offered encouraging words and prayers. Rosanna found her new strength and was healing well when she had a vision of “be the light to others”. Her mother, the women around her, women from diverse backgrounds – their stories, their work, and all the things that they do without expecting anything in return. Their tireless bodies and minds are put to work incessantly for the purpose of serving others for the peace, safety, and building a healthy community. So many amazing women doing good things without recognition, appreciation or cared for. Their stories inspired Rosanna to do more.
The Absolutely Fabulous Women Awards was created to celebrate women and give them an appreciation for their efforts, achievements, accomplishments, and leadership. Rosanna strongly believes that appreciation is the best act of gratitude we can give to those who deserve. An Award as a token of appreciation and the celebration create a memory of a lifetime. On Sunday, March 9, 2014, was the inaugural celebration of Absolutely Fabulous Women Awards ~ 40 over Forty.
